Join our team of volunteers
If you have a few hours to spare, enjoy meeting and assisting people, then we would like to hear from you.
Shoalhaven Neighbourhood Services has a variety of areas where you can volunteer. We offer training, information and support to volunteers and recognise the invaluable contribution each and every person makes to our services and to the wider community.
The organisation has a voluntary management committee and positions are currently available on the committee.
Both Neighbourhood Centres have a number of administrative volunteers who are rostered for regular shifts on the reception desk. Some volunteers take on additional specific tasks depending on their skills and wishes and work in other projects that the Organisation offers. We also have opportunities to assist with yard and garden maintanence at our centres.
If you are interested in making a difference in someone’s life and your own by offering:
- Companionship by making a friendly home visit
- Social support by taking someone out for lunch or a coffee
- Assist them shopping
- Accompany to appointments.
Our Social Support Project currently has positions available. The average minimum time of a visit is approximately 2 hours per fortnight – however this is negotiated with the client and volunteer, and you can have more than one client if you wish. Volunteer opportunities are available for both men and women.
The service reimburses volunteers for approved out of pocket expenses. While volunteering you will meet new people, learn new skills and put your existing skills to good use as well as gaining valuable work experience if you are looking for paid work.
To discuss our volunteer positions further please contact Skye on 4421 5077 or firstname.lastname@example.org
We look forward to hearing from you
